    Finance

    Finance sits at the heart of Kerry, impacting every division of our business and helping us deliver our strategy and vision. All Finance graduates are encouraged to study towards a CIMA or ACCA qualification and receive a generous study package including financial assistance and study leave.

    Operations

    Kerry Group’s multi-site production facilities offer Operations Graduates a dynamic environment in which to gain valuable experience running your own production line and being responsible for people management, raw materials, quality and costs. The pace is fast and within six months you could be in charge of your own production team.

    Procurement

    The Procurement Team are key business partners central to leading cross-functional category management, managing commodity/ category risk, driving and delivering cost reductions and competitive advantage. Graduates will join as Procurement Analysts working on projects to manage Kerry’s spend on Direct Materials and Indirect Materials and Services. After 12 to 18 months high performing graduates may progress to Project Manager or Global Buyer roles.

    Supply Chain

    As a Supply Chain Graduate in Kerry, you will play an essential role in internal co-ordination between production, finance, purchasing and customer service, to ensure the operation is able to meet customer’s demands through efficient balance of materials and the finished goods supply chain.

    Research & Development

    As a R&D Graduate you will play a key role in anticipating and developing the products that will meet the needs of our customers- ensuring our continued growth and profitability.

    ICT (Information and Communication Technology)

    Kerry’s ICT professionals working in small business-focused teams develop, support and enhance a wide range of applications ranging from initial data capture at the point of transaction through to the most sophisticated analysis and presentation to senior management. Kerry’s ICT function is also key to our acquisition programme through the implementation of common applications on a global basis, embracing multiple product groups across wide geographic territories with diverse cultures, languages and trading structures. Kerry’s ICT function is also heavily involved in our SAP Deployment Programme – KerryConnect.

    What is your current role within Kerry?

    I am currently a Supply Chain Specialist.

    Have you progressed in your role since you joined Kerry?

    Yes - over the last 2.5 years my supply chain knowledge has increased a lot as have my project management skills.

    Describe a typical day for you?

    In the morning I mostly am checking and replying to emails. Then I move onto addressing any urgent tasks as scheduled the day before. In the afternoon I tend to work on the planned project I am involved with as well as offer support with any ad hoc requests. Before I leave each day I check and review the plan and any changes for the rest of the week.

    How would you describe Kerry as an organisation?

    The organisation is growing and constantly changing - it is full of opportunities.

    What has been your experience of the Graduate Training Programme?

    The programme has been excellent and I have learnt so much through on the job training.

    How would you describe the culture at Kerry?

    Open-minded and very cooperative - you are always offered the chance to have your say.

    What advice would you give graduates in choosing the right graduate programme for them?

    Look for something that is going to better you as a person and expand and build on your skills.

    What are the 3 keys things you need to be successful in Kerry?

    You need to be: Proactive, Cooperative and Creative - and you need common sense!

    What is next for you in your career with Kerry?

    It’s probably a role related to my current demand planning and implementing experience back in China after years in Malaysia.

    What has been the highlight for you since you joined Kerry?

    There have been many, but probably being handed my first project to manage myself.

    What do you like about your job?

    I love that is it challenging, it is not boring and it is always pushing me!

    What do you find challenging about your job?

    It is sometimes challenging to stick to the planned while dealing with the the unplanned - that’s basically what the supply chain is all about!

    What motivates you?

    Your effort is always recognised and you are rewarded for the effort you put in. Management take notice and say when you have done well.

    What attracted you to apply to the Kerry Group Graduate Programme?

    Kerry is a very well-known Multi National Corporation and I was attracted to the excellent Graduate Programme on offer in 2005

    What is your current role within Kerry?

    I am currently a Product Development Manager for lipid systems

    Yes, since starting on the graduate scheme I have worked my way up to Product Development Manager

    Describe a typical day for you?

    Days are very busy and there is always a lot of work to do. This is what I like and makes it interesting.

    How would you describe Kerry as an organisation?

    Kerry is originally an Irish company that has grown steadily and very successfully across South East Asia. Kerry has ambitious growth plans and is very good at developing and training it's employees.

    What has been your experience of the Graduate Training Programme?

    I have enjoyed the job rotation which has allowed me to experience life in different departments.

    How would you describe the culture at Kerry?

    Kerry is very good place to work and there is a very open learning culture.

    What advice would you give graduates in choosing the right graduate programme for them?

    You need a programme that focuses on developing and exposing you at an early stage.

    What are the 3 keys things you need to be successful in Kerry?

    A positive attitude, be able to adapt to change and be able to work under pressure.

    What is next for you in your career with Kerry?

    My aim is to progress into a regional role in the next 3 years, with a wider job function and more responsibility.

    What has been the highlight for you since you joined Kerry?

    I really enjoyed relocating to Kerry Shanghai where I worked for 2 years.

    What do you like about your job?

    I enjoy the chances it gives me to go travelling to Kerry sites in different locations which allows me to understand different working cultures across different regions.

    What do you find challenging about your job?

    There is an awful lot of change within Kerry and things move at a very fast pace which can be challenging at times, but that is also what makes it exciting.

    What motivates you?

    The opportunity that Kerry gives me to progress in my career, to learn more and be better at what I do.

    What is your current role within Kerry?

    I am currently working on the transfer of beverages from Australia to Malaysia. I am the Process Lead, running the operation within the beverages plant and I am also the Process Lead on a project developing a new process for sweet and savoury sauce.

    Have you progressed in your role since you joined Kerry?

    I began as a Graduate Management Trainee, learning a lot about processes in my 1st year. The following year I was running a shift to get hands on experience and was also responsible for setting up the packing line in Penang. During my 3rd year I was transferred to Australia to learn about syrup and sauce manufacturing ahead of a transfer to Malaysia. In my 4th year I was promoted to Process Improvement Engineer where I took responsibility for process improvements in our Malaysia site. Then in my 5th year I have been trusted to run the beverages plant, doing a lot of work on the set up of the new process line for sweet and savoury sauces.

    Describe a typical day for you?

    As a Graduate Management Trainee in Kerry, we are encouraged to take on as much responsibility as we can in order to gain as much experience as we can. This means I am always learning new things nearly every day.

    How would you describe Kerry as an organisation?

    Kerry is a worldwide organisation which allows you to experience a truly global working environment. As a business, Kerry nurtures its graduates, supporting them to become the future leaders of the company.

    What has been your experience of the Graduate Training Programme?

    I am passionate about process and Kerry has really given me a lot of experience around the processes involved in the food manufacturing industry. As well as this, I have had a lot of experience of the managerial skills needed to run the beverages plant operation.

    How would you describe the culture at Kerry?

    Kerry has a very open culture and it offers a challenging environment for graduates to learn in. Working at Kerry you get a lot of experience across all the different areas of the business.

    What advice would you give graduates in choosing the right graduate programme for them?

    The best graduate programme is one that can give you the most experience across as many areas of the business as possible. Kerry really focusses on this because they are committed to ensuring that their graduates go on to become their future leaders.

    You need to be hardworking, be able to rise to any challenge and always open to learning more.

    What is next for you in your career with Kerry?

    I am keen to explore a more global role and gain even more knowledge.

    The thing that I like most is the recognition you are given for your handwork and positive approach.

    What do you like about your job?

    I enjoy the challenges it throws at me, like setting up new processes using the knowledge I have gained. I enjoy interacting with people from different cultures who have different ways of working.

    The variety is offers me and the fact that there are always new things to learn. It is definitely not routine!
