Life Actuarial Analyst - Engineering - ICT

The Programme

As a Life actuarial analyst in ICT, you will work as part of a team on projects focused mainly on life insurance & health.  
 
You will be involved in a variety of projects including IFRS 17, statutory valuation, data science/analytics, market research, Embedded Value, capital management, merger and acquisitions etc. for our clients across Southeast Asia.  
 
Many of the projects will involve using WTW’s market-leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customized solutions for our clients.

What You Will Do

  • Data preparation, as well as producing and analyzing the initial results. You will work closely with consultants and project managers across the region who will help you to increase your insurance knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills, all while providing a blend of client-facing exposure as well. 
  • Working with consultants and project managers on a variety of insurance-related client projects which includes: 
    • IFRS 17.  
    • Statutory reserving. 
    • Data science and predictive analytics. 
    • Automation. 
    • Embedded Value. 
    • Merger and acquisitions. 
    • Regulatory solvency. 
    • Risk management and capital management. 
  • Developing actuarial models using WTW’s market leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customized solutions for our clients. 
  • Experienced associates will often begin to play an extended role in supporting the project manager on drafting project plan, managing assigned workstreams, and ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards 
  • Deliver high-quality work in compliance with Excellence standards and proactively look to improve the process. 
  • Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams. 
  • Deliver work in accordance with project deadlines and meet or exceed client expectations.  
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions for the clients. 
  • Contribute to sales activities by assisting with proposals, demos, presentations and pitches.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or any other related quantitative fields. 
  • Fresh graduates, or up to 4 years of experience in life insurance or consulting/regional roles. More experienced candidates may be considered for more senior positions. 
  • Pursuing actuarial exams from recognized International Actuarial Bodies. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication, especially in presentation and report writing, 
  • Good time management skills, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently, 
  • Self-driven achiever, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, 
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel,  
  • Understanding of IFRS 17, EV, Prophet, reserving and/or pricing is a plus, 
  • Familiarity with WTW’s actuarial modelling software (e.g. Risk Agility FM, DataValidator, Unify) is a plus.
