Research Analyst - Gas, Power - Science - Climate Solutions

The Programme

IHS Markit is looking to expand its Asia power and renewables practice and is seeking a high-caliber analyst to join our fast-growing team in Asia.  
 
This Research Analyst will be an important member of our China power and renewable research team, working closely with research and consulting teams in the region and globally to ensure data quality and consistency and conduct analysis on industry trends.

What You Will Do

• Help team in conducting desktop research of mainland China’s power and carbon market developments, including power demand, supply, trade and pricing from publicly available resources. 
• Collect and maintain various in-house databases and models used for research and analysis activities. 
• Work closely with colleagues for the accurate and timely delivery of regular client-facing publications as well as to address potential related questions from clients. 
• Support regional analysts as required for quantitative analysis and report writing.

Required Skills and Abilities

• A graduate degree in science, engineering, business analytics, economics or other quantitative field. 
• A strong interest in the energy sector and climate change. 
• Aptitude for statistical analysis. 
• Strong team players with keen attention to detail. 
• Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint. 
• Excellent English communication (reading / writing / speaking) skills 
• Business Proficiency in Simplified Chinese. 
• Knowledge of Power BI a plus.
