The Programme

A career in our Software Development practice, within Tax Technology services, will provide you with the opportunity to work directly with senior Information Technology professionals within PwC, as well as with our clients, in order to provide specialised assistance to troubleshoot and resolve issues surrounding the technical application aspects of our tax technology solutions. Our team helps our clients solve complex business problems by interpreting requirements, programming unit testing of applications, and supporting the System Development Life Cycle for applicable technical domains used for their business applications.

What you will do

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be assisting us to create and implement strategies for quality coordination and testing as well as suggesting solutions to identified quality problems.. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in designing quality assurance plan covering business and functional requirements
  • Provide estimation of testing efforts and able to execute within agreed timeline
  • Participate in conceptual design of test environment
  • Able to spot system usability and practical issues, pay attention to user experience (UX) and suggest ideas for seamless client experience (CX)
  • Execute test script based on test cases, record system defects with clear and concise description
  • Conduct post implementation testing
  • Support developers in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with business analysts
  • Report to project stakeholders regarding QC status and system readiness to roll out
  • Proactively assist the team in various aspects of the project
  • Prepare deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
  • Ensure you are adhering to compliance matters
  • Work on developing internal relationships and your PwC brand

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Recognized University Degree in Software Engineering/ Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Fresh graduate or less than a years' experience in software testing
  • Fundamental understanding of project management
  • A team player and proactive problem-solver
  • Results oriented with “on time and on budget” attitude
  • Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English Language with confidence
  • Experience in developing automated testing is an added advantage
