Maintenance Intern

The Programme

PPG is looking for a Maintenance Intern to join our team at our Petaling Jaya Plant.  
 
This internship program may range from 6 to 12 months depending on different Universities' requirements and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes. 
• Help implement and monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics to evaluate equipment performance and identify areas for improvement. 
• Support the maintenance team in implementing reliability-centered maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. 
• Help troubleshoot and maintain Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and other automated equipment. 
• Help update maintenance logs, documentation, and reports. 
• Help manage spare parts and inventory for maintenance activities. 
• Conduct analysis to identify potential areas for improvement in maintenance processes, including the implementation of new technologies. 
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to the development of a safe working environment.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 
• Basic understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and principles. 
• Familiarity with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concepts and measurements. 
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and their maintenance.
