Do you want to work in a results-oriented multi-discipline design engineering environment, writing, and debugging software on physical hardware? Does innovating, contributing to electrical designs, optimizing, and debugging next-generation semiconductor test equipment for one of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers appeals to you? 

Our embedded software team is looking to hire a driven, motivated software engineer who will build both embedded software running on bare metal and RTOSes as well as higher level interface software. You will work with other software engineers and other engineering disciplines to create semiconductor testers from the ground up.  

Daily Work:

Our embedded team engages with software, electrical, control, and mechanical engineering design teams. We develop embedded and interface software, analyze schematics, review PCB layouts, prototype circuits, debug hardware, automate testing, develop user libraries to control hardware, and create documentation. We write code primarily in C, C++, and Python in the Linux environment for various microcontrollers and computing modules acting as the interface to custom hardware. 

You will have the opportunity to work with leaders and principal engineers and be teamed with an experienced embedded engineering mentor, to help teach, guide, and advance your engineering career.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and control engineers in the design and bring-up of next-generation memory testers.
  • Develop/Debug in C/C++ for embedded environments. 
  • Develop/Debug in C++ and Python for the hardware interface environment.
  • Use of lab equipment for design bring-up and testing.
  • Communication – written, spoken, creating technical documents.  

Required Skills and Abilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. 
  • C proficiency, C++ experience. 
  • Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • C++ proficiency. 
  • Python familiarity. 
  • Experience with embedded software tools. 
  • Experience with schematics, and PCB layout. 
  • Familiarity with Linux, GNU toolchain. 
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, SMUs).
