The Programme

We are looking for an Intern – Finance who will be assisting in month-end GL (general ledger) closing and reporting of entity’s results.  
 
Responsible for the preparation of journal entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and execution of internal control in accordance with Haleon Internal Control Framework.   
 
Also, to collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g., P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end close.

Office Location: Haleon Petaling Jaya 
Title of Hiring Manager: Acting Financial Controller, Close & Control 
Period of Internship Required: 6 months 
Preferred School/Course of Intern: Open to all disciplines. 
 
You will be required to:

• Participate in month-end GL (general ledger) close and reporting of entity’s results.  Execute month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and SOP’s. Responsible for the preparation of journal entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and execution of internal control in accordance with Haleon Internal Control Framework. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g., P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end close. 
• Provide support for the financial reporting of the designated legal entities/markets, example performing first level analysis/ analytical review of profit and loss accounts and balance sheet, cost center checks and transaction posting checks, BISON confirmation/check and corporate reporting (BISON) vs Statutory reconciliation. 
• Provide support to analyst members/controllers within the team thereby ensuring quality is maintained. 
• Other ad-hoc activities like participating in any compliance audits and responding to audit queries, supporting C&C and Hub-wide initiatives and such other tasks as Hub management and changing business environment may require to be performed.

• Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to ensure successful month-end close & control processes.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong written and oral communications skills. Proficiency in speaking and writing in Mandarin is required to cover China counterpart. 
• Deadline-driven, flexible with self-reliance to work in an empowered environment. 
• Proactive attitude to process improvement. 
• Awareness and ability to work within culturally diverse teams. 
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solve, work in teams, and focus on delivering assigned work.
