Product Industrialization/Process Engineering Intern

The Programme

If selected, you will be part of our CST Tire manufacturing plant Product Industrialization/Process Engineering Department, which is located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. 
 
Become part of the Product Industrialization/Process Engineering community, contributing towards continuous product and process improvement activities for the growing plant. 
 
Internship duration preferably between 6 - 12 months period, starting in September/October 2023. 

What You Will Do

• One or more of the following projects:
  • Collaborate on research projects involving the usage of the newly acquired Tackiness Checker --- which will be continuing the process and testing evaluation for establishment of tack process specification and local standard testing method.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, or establishment of revised Awl holing jig and drilling procedure for selected Port Operation tires.
  • Support ongoing process evaluation, data collection and fine-tuning activity at OTR, Bladder plant and/or Mixing & Preparation area.
• Contribute to the writing and publication of standard manual, work instruction and documentations for process requirement.
• Assist PI/PE experts on technical documentations maintenance and publishing.
• Supports PI/PE department on yearly cross department, plant and R&D event on site (4-4-1 Meeting 2024) for event management and coordination activities. 

Required Skills and Abilities

Required Qualification:

• Currently pursuing a degree study with a focus on chemistry technology / polymer technology / manufacturing process or relevant engineering/technology course.
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university.
• Strong foundations in data analysis.
• Experience with working with diverse and multicultural teams.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, statistical analysis tool (e.g., Minitab), photo & video editing software.
• Be enthusiastic and able to collaborate in a team environment and project groups.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into simple to understand, communicable ideas. 
• Curious and passionate about learning everything. 

Desired Qualification:

• Strongly preferred: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Added advantage: Knowledge of basic programming coding skills (i.e., Java, Phyton, VBA).
• Background in structured problem-solving methods and root cause analysis tools.
