Intern - Strategy & Enterprise Architecture

The Programme

The GDE/LC Strategy & Enterprise Architecture Team fosters its collaborative consulting expertise by enhancing their EA guiding principles of "Evaluate Open Source". To support and accelerate the value creation with Open Source, the team is searching for you as an intern to explore the topic deeper. 
 
As an intern, you drive further development of EA principle “Evaluate Open Source”. You will develop guardrails and guidelines for Open Source while identifying value creation, gaps, and best practices.

  • You promote the EA principle of evaluating open source to BASF businesses and regions as well as support teams and IT architects with expertise or skill. 
  • You foster adoption of open-source best practices into tangible end-to-end process improvements. 
  • You review the current state application portfolio and identify areas where open-source alternatives are available in a sustainable way, and the steps involved in its transition. 
  • You create a decision tree / framework to guide the evaluation of open-source alternatives. 
  • Lastly, you contribute actively to the strategic roadmap in further refining the EA principle of “Evaluate Open Source”.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Students currently in their 3rd year pursuing bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field are encouraged to apply. 
  • Strong interest and passion for open-source software and its potential to enhance IT systems and business processes. 
  • Basic knowledge of IT architecture. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong communication in English, both spoken and written and business mindset, change awareness as well as team spirit.

The regional service hub has approximately 700 employees and is growing.  Focused on being a competency and digitalization driven hub, it also provides quality functional and know-how services in the areas of finance, controlling, human resources, real estate and facilities management, communications, environmental, health and safety, procurement, import-export order management, and information services to BASF companies and affiliates in the Asia Pacific region.
